 @afercia i'm a little hesitant about the visible labels for the
 added/removed columns. The appear disjointed from the design and I feel
 like we need more UX feedback here to get this right.

 I'm going to try to refactor my the latest patch to remove that part and
 limit the scope to addressing the column issue originally raised in the
 ticket.
