 This behaviour is present in the new editor as well. I have opened a
 similar issue in the Gutenberg repo here
 [https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/15132].

 Given the age of the ticket I am unsure if this still applies so I am
 closing it here. If I am wrong please open it back :) Thanks!
