 [attachment:"4575.15.diff"] is an array based version for comparison. The
 array_map version in [attachment:"4575.14.diff"] feels more elegant to me
 though.

 I'm not really sure [attachment:"4575.14.diff"] ''is'' a breaking change,
 it will only land in WP 5.2, which **requires** PHP 5.6 - how do you see
 this as a breaking change? To me it is more about using modern coding
 practices for new code.

 Also appreciate any help you can provide testing that the dates still show
 up as you expect them to in the feeds.
