 Hi @catsfoto1se,

 Thanks for the suggestion. Currently, WordPress doesn't keep track of all
 the posts or pages an image might be included in, so deleting images while
 deleting a post could accidentally break other posts where this image is
 in use.

 For now, I'm going to close this as a maybe later and we could consider it
 again in the future.
