 Thanks for your report.

 Although the events widget is meant to show meetups in the user's local
 area, it also includes WordCamps a bit farther away (i.e. the next city or
 even the neighbour state).

 WordCamp Europe is a special case: it's an international event with
 thousands of attendees from all over the globe. Many speakers and
 attendees are from the US, too. That's why WordCamp Europe, like WordCamp
 US, is sown to people even if they're not on the same continent.
