Comment (by paaljoachim):

I think that Gutenberg tryout should be included in WordPress 5.0 because
 of these reasons:
 - Gutenberg at present is a revolution in WordPress. Lets try and soften
up the revolution and give it time.

 - It needs a very long transition period where the user should be able to
choose to create content in TinyMCE or Gutenberg. People need a lot of
time to test out various combinations of themes and plugins. Having
TinyMCE and Gutenberg side by side (for a few major versions of WordPress)
will create less of a disruption for developers who might have over many
years made custom sites for their clients. TinyMCE is very much an
integrated part of WordPress. The transition period will also give the
user the option when specific combinations of plugins break a site when
Gutenberg is used to switch over to using TinyMCE instead. (Of course be
 encouraged to report the breakage.)

The option to use Gutenberg will over time be embraced by more and more
people as they see the huge benefit it has over using the classic editor
TinyMCE. It will also over time work on more and more combinations of
plugins and themes. Along the way Gutenberg will continue to develop and
 improve.
