 I'm using a custom table in https://wordpress.org/plugins/avatar-privacy/
 to track consent for anonymous content authors and user meta for
 registered users (consent for transmitting their hashed mail address to
 Gravatar.com to retrieve a profile image). Both methods do not leave an
 audit trail at the moment, but only store the most recent change. Having a
 generic framework for consent logging in Core would be beneficial.
