 For tablet-size screens, I picture it scaling down to two columns like so:

 Smaller screens are a little trickier, as we'd like to ensure that the
 headline shows up above the image. Otherwise people will need to scroll
 down a bunch before they understand what the callout is about. My ideal
 treatment would be something like this, with the headline up top and a
 cropped-down, shorter image:

 If that's not doable, I'd suggest we just remove the image on small
 screens:
