 In looking at https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/4218 (a PR that,
 in part, deals with an issue of a _lot_ of autosave revisions out of
 Gutenberg, e.g. https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/3656 ),
 Gutenburg is looking at an admin-ajax.php approach using core JS APIs
 since the core REST API does not directly support autosaves.

 Marking for WordPress 5.0 so it can be considered early in light of
 Gutenburg.
