 Thank you for your ticket, and thank you for the feedback!

 If the link field was only for hyperlinks, this seems like it would be a
 nice enhancement. However as seen in this GIF, the input field is also for
 ''searching'' among your existing posts, as such it needs to support
 spaces: https://cloudup.com/cjRxrPlldKW

 However there are two other ways to quickly turn something into a link.

 1. Copy a link from somewhere, then select text, then paste. Done. The
 text isn't replaced with the link, it's linked. No need to press the link
 button first.
 2. If you do prefer to use the link dialog, when you're done typing the
 link, press first Tab, then Space, and you're done.
