 @igrigorik of those use cases I think “early load of late discovered
 resources” is going to be the one that will make the most sense to start
 with in WordPress. It's continuing what was started in #37171 to add
 `preconnect` resource hint for the Google Fonts used in the core themes.
 Similar patches could be added to add support for preloading the header
 image and featured image that would be used on a given theme template.
