 a selected class on-click for example ), as I said I'm not pushing for a
 checkbox specifically.

 Have you seen this done well by other applications? I'm having trouble
 picturing the flow.

 It would be additive. Like the Customizer, you'd still be able to drag and
 drop to reorder, and expand a menu item to remove it from your menu.
