 This ticket doesn't enhance anything. It only hides something that is
 needed in certain situations.
 There is no advantage to displaying 4.8 when it is really 4.8.2.
 It just adds obscurity. There is no benefit.
 I think it would add confusion for users when dealing with updates and
 problem solving. And trying to find where WordPress hides the version
 number when you are trying to troubleshoot a problem just adds to the
 stress of the problem. If it is visible at the bottom of the admin, it is
 one of those reassuring things that all is as it should be.
