Comment:

 @obenland I can confirm that the test case I had of switching from a
 populated 3-sidebar theme to 2-sidebar theme and then back to 3-sidebar
 theme results in all of the sidebars being restored as expected. So the
 issue I identified in comment [comment:88] is fixed. 🙌
