 Yes, I reported this bug to iThemes, and research showed it was all about
 how their Hide Backend feature used `wp_clear_auth_cookie()` in a way that
 became incompatible with specifically WP 4.8, resulting in an infinite
 loop.

 About the ticket topic though: ever since the `WP_Hook` rewrite/-factor
 was introduced, everything has worked smoothly.
