Comment:

 @rafa8626 I suggest raising in #core-media, getting component media
 maintainers involved in testing and reviewing the patch. Given the
 magnitude of the changes, and the presence of many new files (which
 complicate automatic upgrades), I expect that this will be something for
 the 4.9 major release and not the 4.8.1 minor release.
