 I think related to this, but a case that causes issues in themes is a
 hamburger menu for example with widgets. This is hidden as closed, you can
 literally add widgets and unless open won't see. You're sending them to
 nowhere visible.

 I am wondering if a low hanging version of this is a hidden state
 indicator and/or an 'other page' indication (unsure if same)? Further
 building on this could be scroll to section (if hidden down page), preview
 refresh to page when on different page or even slide out menu.

 I would add a +1 to avoiding any instance where suers are wondering where
 they added a widget.
