 There have been some questions about valid use cases for the underline
 functionality in the WordPress editor. For reference I've created this
 example of a common practice in some circles, in particular academia. I
 have no numbers to back this up, so the example is anecdotal.

 Here, the underline is used in conjunction with emphasized text and links
 to draw attention to a section within the text without emphasizing it
 further. Note the link is styled to appear different from the underline.

 It appears I am the only one defending this feature, and I am not going to
 fight it if the feature is removed, I only provide this example to show a
 legitimate use case that is established and worth taking into
 consideration.
