 Ive been struggling with this for quite some time. But with more images
 and posts, it started to bother me A LOT.

 So I noticed that when selecting a post Featured image that is already
 loaded into the Media Library, that image show "Unattached" in the
 "Uploaded to" column in the Media Library.

 I have 1000 pictures uploaded to Media Library and now one by one Im
 attaching it to the post using featured image option. The problem ... I
 have no clue which image i have already used. I found quite few posts
 about this issue but there is no real solution.

 I hope someone can finally look into it and fix it once and for all - its
 been years.
