 Should be fine either way.  I only changed it because
 `rest_sanitize_value_from_schema` uses `strval`
 ([https://core.trac.wordpress.org/browser/trunk/src/wp-includes/rest-
 api.php?rev=39329&marks=1164-1166#L1164 ref]).
