 Good news!

 Apparently this has been
 [https://github.com/jquery/jquery/issues/3065#issuecomment-218609147 fixed
 upstream] in 1.12-stable, which means jQuery 1.12.4 is just around the
 corner.

 Here's what changed since 1.12.3:
 https://github.com/jquery/jquery/compare/1.12.3...1.12-stable

 It would be great if someone could test the current version from GitHub to
 verify the fixes.
