Comment:

 I have tried all the fixes listed here and nothing seems to work. Even
 reinstalled WordPress.
 I'm also using 1and1 hosting provider. Wordpress was installed using their
 1&1 App Center.
 Sub-domain being used. Uploading using the wordpress app also fails most
 of the time.
