 That's the case for other file types as well, e.g. `.txt`, `.pdf`, `.zip`,
 anything excerpt images, music, or video. How would the document itself be
 added?

 If you mean the link should go to the attachment page and not the file,
 what option is selected "Link To" dropdown in "Attachment Display
 Settings" section when inserting the file into the post?
