Comment:

 @morganestes I know I converted most of the latest patch into the plugin
 that @helen started on github, so that may be a good place to start. Once
 it's updated and polished it could be re-patchified, potentially as more
 of a plugin merge with other changes. The underlying admin bar api lends
 itself fairly nicely to hooking in how we would need to. I probably won't
 have much time to work on it this cycle, so it would be great if you could
 pick it up!
