 Depends on the library. This is something I would also like something like
 Select2 to handle (see #31696), but based on
 [https://make.wordpress.org/accessibility/2015/09/07/accessibility-
 usertest-select2/ the accessibility team's testing of the current state of
 Select2], the answer is that it could be worse.
