 I think if something like this is introduced to core it would be nicer if
 it worked drag-n-drop in the current post list view rather than in a
 separate tree view like CMS Tree Page View and other plugins.

 The drag-n-drop methodology would then tie in with reordering menu items
 etc.

 The UI for the Nested Pages plugin mentioned above is different from the
 current Post List UI but I do like the ability to expand/collapse nested
 pages.

 Most recently I have been using the Simple Page Ordering plugin which adds
 drag-n-drop pretty seamlessly into the existing UI:

 Just my thoughts.
