 I am trying to understand this ticket status - has this been already
 implemented? I'm looking at 4.4-beta4 but nothing there related to it.

 If this has not been imlpemented yet, do we know when can it happen?

 Apart from above, can you suggest any workaround for blocking "private"
 plugin from updating / replacing by other plugin from wordpress.org? I
 still want my plugin to check 3rd party for update though.
