 As someone who uses SSL only for the back-end I definately feel this
 update should be fixed. I use a self signed cerificate for the back end,
 so random https calls on random browsers will be halted on the count of
 the certificate beeing untrusted therefore breaking content.
 Solving this on my end would involve either investing in an actual trusted
 certificate (and associated additional server load from https requests) or
 implementing some sort of server-side workaround which seems wrong to me.
