Comment (by ryan):

 > With this I don't mean to take away the dashboard icon, I'm fine to add
it on mobile only if we feel it's important, I'd just highlight that
there's no benefit in terms of general flows (taps) between the two.

The taps are the same but the experience is not. Even when I'm using a
View Post link to get back to the front-end, that Home, Dashboard pairing
is comforting. I like having them top-left.

My biases: I don't like logo branded nav. Tacky. I cherish my logo
blindness. The core toolbar on phones is my favorite of all of the
WordPress* bar incarnations because is has some taste and restraint. When
looking through a bunch of browser windows on a phone, those Home and
Dashboard icons call me home and give me some context. They give more
context than a W. Having logo branded nav on a phone looks like lingering
desktop bias. Freshly added lingering desktop bias.

I'm concerned that this is going to look like what's on wordpress.com,
which I think is a downgrade from core. I use the .com and core bars every
day on multiple devices, and I'll take core.

This change requires a lot of diligence. We need flow comparisons. We need
to use the hell out of this. Which is why I've been trying to get this
done as a feature plugin for a year or so.
