Comment (by ryan):

For my use, the most important flows are create, edit, customize, and
 front-to-back linkage.

My favorite incarnation of the production toolbar is on phones, as seen
 here: https://make.wordpress.org/flow/2014/07/07/the-guises-of-bar-
 nexus-5-4-0-alpha-20140706/

The straightforward front to back linkage with paired home and dashboard
icons, the edit icon that is contextually aware of posts, pages, CPTs, and
taxonomy, and the creation icon seen in those Nexus 5 shots are pretty
 nice.

I don't use the comments icon nearly so much. I'm more interested in likes
than comments. Commenting happens on social sites via Publicize.
Collapsing them into one thing sounds good to me. Long ago (during the 2.7
design) we wanted to have a notifications/stream page that brought
 everything together. That never happened.

We also show an Updates icon when there are core, theme, or plugin
updates, except on phones. How would we handle that in the new design?

There's a site switcher key icon on multisite installs, as seen here:
 https://make.wordpress.org/flow/2015/06/13/site-switching-on-the-make-
 network-iphone-6/

There's also a view post/page icon when editing a post or page in wp-
admin. This seems a good candidate for removal to make room for other
 things.

The current W menu (with about, documentation, etc.) is a waste of
important space. I'm glad production omits it from the toolbar on phones.
Putting a unified menus there seems more useful.

In Unified Concept i6, how do I get from wp-admin to the frontend? On
desktop I'm assuming I tap the blog title. That won't be available on
touch devices. A View Site item at the top?

One of the things I miss the most in the production toolbar is access to
Posts. Concept i6 is a big help there.

i6 has Customize, Edit, and New up top. That satisfies 3 out of my 4
favorite flows. That leaves my question about front to back linkage with
 view site.
