 [attachment:32395.diff] is a rough patch that shows the concept at work on
 the posts list table - it's got plenty of not very pretty spots both
 visually and in code, and I think it breaks Quick Edit. There's a crufty
 bit where I changed the Comments text to a long string and forgot to
 remove before uploading the patch :) However, wanted to put it out there
 for early thoughts and reactions, particularly on the interaction and
 visual fronts. Screenshots are from iPhone (particularly ugly) and OSX
 Firefox.
