 FWIW this weekend I looked to see if I could identify the 'eaten' taps and
 if there was any scope to remove/address/fix them but came up blank.

 As you've said before helen, in comment:41 perhaps that would be the best
 approach.

 And with ryan's comments on comment:15 perhaps there's some scope in the
 future to address markup improvements that would help alleviate some
 portion of this issue.
