Probably - I'll see if somebody is up for looking at this again, but based
on the headache I have after looking at this fruitlessly for a few hours
and what I had to do in 4.2, we'll probably have to survive with the
double taps for release and just keep working on this separately. My first
step is to strip this down to a minimal test case.
