 I'm going to put my thoughts into words and graphics over the next little
 while. I have high hopes we can get this feature to work for the user.

 Just to be clear, the reason this ticket was so ... direct ... was that I
 felt we needed to have this conversation out in the open. I hear it too
 often and it has been hanging around like a bad memory. Maybe the way
 things ended in 3.6 left people too frustrated to want to keep going, or
 maybe the project just lost steam or got outshone by other more pressing
 matters, I don't know. Regardless, if we all agree to keep Post Formats in
 core, we can move forward and get the ball rolling again.
