 I do use them. In my site and client sites. Mostly link and video post
 format. I don't mind if they are pushed in to a plugin. But I'm not sure
 would that solve the issues @mor10 mentioned.

 - Feature support would still be inconsistent across themes.

 - Behavior in the front end would still be inconsistent.
