Comment:

 In this case, it would seem to me that Akismet, which held the comment for
 review, knew the commend wasn't behind shown, and therefore it would be
 Akismet's responsibility, not WordPress core, to solve this problem by
 updating the comment_date_gmt when it releases the comment back out.
