The new distraction free editor works fine for the administrator role,
however, the user with editor role cannot edit posts contributed by
others. The same posts may be edited by an administrator account.

With a user with editor roles, the visual editor remains blank during
typing until red dots appear. This post can be seen properly by the
 administrator.

A user with contributor role can create a post and submit. The user with
editor role can see the post listing but clicking on edit brings up a
blank visual editor. The post title shows, sidebars shows. The two tabs
are visual and text but neither show text written by the contributor.
