 It's more about being able to see how many/which items are selected at a
 glance, and then having a quick way to go in to remove some or clear all
 of them. On mobile, especially with a large library, it could be difficult
 to see what's selected at a glance within the attachment browser since
 you'd likely need to do a lot of scrolling.

 If there's room to display the edit button also somewhere, I think it
 makes sense that it's to edit the blue/active one in the selection, but I
 think the other thing's more important when multiple items are selected if
 we can only see one.
