 I have already contacted a few browser developers and they say it's a
 Wordpress bug, considering how many browsers this effects I would be more
 inclined to believe them. Maybe there is hardcoded support for major
 browsers and not for the major alternative browsers?

 Browsers like OmniWeb and Roccat are very mainstream browsers for Mac, I
 have constructed a list of effected browsers I have found so far on OSX.

 Omniweb
 iCab
 Roccat
 Sleipnir
 Browser
 Sunrise
 Lightning Web Browser
 Stainless
 Cruz

 And these are the only main browsers for Mac I know, I didn't bother
 looking at the less known ones, some of these browsers are in the Mac
 AppStore others are not, some use a custom version of WebKit others use
 the system Webkit. So these are all very different browsers and all hold
 the same issue - do you really think all of these browsers have the same
 issue?
