 The problem with this approach is that you are hiding primary
 functionality within the Screen Options tab, which should be used to
 show/hide items in the admin screen.

 If you want to get rid of that meta box, you might as well get rid of the
 two tabs and use the header "Add New" method and just display it on the
 menu screen in the same spot it's always been.
