 The video player's styles take about a second to load which causes the
 player to look slightly different for a portion of the first second. The
 http://mediaelementjs.com/ homepage is a good example. Hit F5 and watch
 the video player closely as the page is loading.

 I have reported this over at the MediaElement project on GitHub but I
 wanted to bring this issue to the attention of WP as I know the video
 player is included in core since v3.6
