Comment:

 Supporting a taxonomy in a post type does not mean that the post should
 appear on archive / tax archive pages

 I create custom post types that are really "modules" (not posts) that can
 be attached to tags so I know which sidebars to dynamically render them
 on, but I have no intention of them ever appearing in archives.

 Kicking this back to the reporter to provide a patch and use case that
 requires this fix.
