 After some extremely patient testing I'm giving up on 1.7.4.  In some
 cases the browser will initialize if I don't touch it for 2 to 3 minutes.
 About half the time it fails to initialize and either nothing happens or I
 get an error message, "There has been a problem contacting the server."
 Useless.
