 With the code in PHPMailer 5.2 would it not be possible to pass
 $phpmailer->XMailer = true to over ride an X-Mailer header being sent with
 the current wp_mail() function plugability? If I get a chance later I'll
 apply the PHPMailer 5.2 patch and see if this works.

 Let's not forget though that out of the box WordPress attaches the
 wp_generator() function to the wp_head() action and thereby brands and
 provides software version details in the source of every rendered page.
 Why are the authors of PHPMailer not allowed to do the same?
