Comment:

 I don't think <pre> works in the context that @nkuttler is referring to.
 When putting it inside the Usage template %%% block, the <pre> is
 displayed. When putting the <pre> outside the %%% block, the codes for the
 %%% template are expanded and displayed as well. Quite ugly.

 Escaping with !!'' doesn't work, and surprisingly entity escaping eg with
 &prime;' doesn't work either.

 And heh, it does appear that the escaping trick DOES work here in Trac...
