Comment:

 So, we alredy had a theme deactivation hook and now we have theme
 activation hook as well, since [18656]:

 Theme activation hook: 'after_switch_theme'

 Theme de-activation hook: 'switch_theme'

 It's a little backwards from a theme author's perspective, but it works.
