 > Because wp-includes is a core WordPress directory that should never have
 modifications, it's quite obvious what files will be there. Blocking these
 kinds of directories is rather useless.

 It could [comment:ticket:17601:15 prevent unnecessary crawling] by search
 engines on misconfigured servers.

 This is a duplicate of #18546, though.
