Comment:

 From my standpoint:

 Network admin is only the backend for the ''Super Admin''.

 Multisite is a network of sites/blogs.

 So the official term should be !WordPress Multisite (was !WordPress MU for
 !WordPress Multiuser). And with !WordPress Multisite you can create a
 network, a network of sites.

 See also the constants WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE and MULTSITE.
