Comment:

 Replying on Trac resubmits the page. So we really don't have much of a
 choice here.

 This perhaps can be something filed upstream, but every set of reply
 buttons is its own <form>, so it's not easy to do without leveraging JS.
 I'm not really sure why it's not just one big form, but I digress.

 Because it resubmits the page, the back button should be sufficient in
 most browsers. (Just tested it here.)
