 Derick Rethans (author of the lib) reminded me on that detail lately in a
 talk. So I bet he is right just out of the blue :) . He suggested to use
 (float) on 32 bit systems.

 Internally in the class it's 64 bit regardless of the system setting. At
 least that's how I have understood him.
